Black Londoner Appeal is publishing a collection of works, in support of Haiti. The collection will include poems, lyrics, shorts stories, images, illustrations and cartoons. The anthology will give a voice to and share with a wider audience, your words and feelings about Haiti, its culture and its people.  The collections will be an affirmation of Haiti’s culture, its people, its art and Haiti’s place in world history, in particular its role in the emancipation of black people everywhere.

As Haiti was the first black country to throw off the yoke of slavery, the book will be a testament to the enduring fight for survival and freedom, the enduring spirit of the Haitian people and a reminder of their pre-eminent place in world history. The collections will be dedicated to the irrepressible universal struggle for equality and the relentless quest for redemption.

While you are thinking about your submissions, we would like you to bear the following words in mind: faith, hope, pride, defiance, rebellion, redemption, compassion and love.

The deadline for submissions is 31 March 2010.

You are welcome to submit as many pieces of work as you like. They may be published or unpublished works. If the works have been published elsewhere, either online or in a book, the writer has the sole responsibility to obtain written permission to republish the material in the collections. If your submissions are accepted, you will have to complete a copyright form before your work can be included in the collection.

There is no fee involved as this is a work in aid of a charitable organization, proceeds will be donated to the Lambi Fund of Haiti.
